Colonial Promos is a student-run and University sponsored promotional product business in which students at GW can participate it. It is not an internship, but a complete academic immersion experience; GW students who participate in the program have an opportunity to actually practice and implement the methods and theories that are taught in the classroom.

As for the business itself - we sell a broad range of branded and imprinted promotional products.  Some of these products include:

graduation presents, speaker gifts, printed apparel, and trade show giveaways.  For example we can offer custom Colonials apparel, hippo-shaped stress relievers, or handouts at Colonial Inauguration. We also specialize in “Green” and eco-conscious promo products made from sustainable or recycled materials.

The student employees of the business are professionally trained by a local promotional products distributor (http://www.onsalepromos.com) that has a long standing relationship with GW. In fact, they were one of nine local partners invited to showcase their services and relationship with the University to President Knapp this past November. Not only that, we are the only licensed promotional products and apparel vendor that gives a full 20% of our profits right back to the School of Business’ Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence!

Currently we are growing the business by attending networking events on campus, organizing marketing campaigns to promote the store, and schedule meetings with University and student decision makers to showcase the products we offer.
